Hell Yeah, Fuck Yeah

Big boy Hardy

Sometimes there are those news in the universe of movie-making that makes someone like me go a bit crazy with excitement. Most of the time it’s favourite actors you never expected working together being in the same movie, or actor/director, actor/role, loved adaptations made by people you trust (and for me personally I go a bit happy-bonkers when a fave of mine plays gay. Because that’s my thing ;) etc. And sometimes things like these are so frickin’ good you almost can’t believe they are true. (When my biggest celebrity crush ever stared in the biggest movie in history and became a frickin’ household name was not one of those “things”.. )

My current crush and obsession is (still) the very talented Tom Hardy. Things are going really great for him right now, since Bronson premiered. The movie itself have gotten reviews describing it as everything from “okay” to “brilliant cult classic” (It’s not a movie for everyone. Not exactly mainstream, lol) but all the critics have one opinion in common; Tom is fantastic and can’t be denied.

That’s not the “I can’t believe its true” bit (I didn’t expect anything else of him..;) That moment came when I read about his next movie Warrior. No, it’s not a gay role. (He already did that in Rockn’rolla so I’m satisfied on that point, hehe.) But the guy will be playing a gawd damn MMA fighter..

FUCKING YES!!!!

Of all the movies about MMA (…Name one that isn’t a b-movie..) they put my boi in one. It’s so perfect I suspected I was dreaming when I read it. If it had been a random martial art sport like.. dunno’, lets say judo, it would have been pretty cool, I guess. I mean, it would have pleased me to know he’d be training things like that, but MMA? Hear him even mentioning UFC!? Seriously, that shit makes me cream. Best sport ever as far as I’m concerned (.. “Arsenal” isn’t a sport…) Blood and grown men clinching and beating the crap out of eachother in every way possible.. What’s not to love!? And to see Tom do that (or even training-pics of him doing that, lol)!? That shit puts a big dorky smile on my face.

With that said.. I have no idea what to expect of this movie (filming starts next month) but I suspect it might turn into something crappy.. I won’t be able to take it seriously if the fighting doesn’t look good, and fuck knows the world have a tendency to make sports like these look fucking tacky on screen (Exaggerated sounds. They always tries to fucking hard to make it “cool” instead of real. Ugh.) And the main star is Nick Nolte.. He’s a talented actor but I’ve never liked him for some reason. Can’t say anything bad or good about the plot. It can turn into anything.

Plot: Nolte plays an ex-Vietnam veteran boxer-turned-steel mill worker whose family was torn apart by alcoholism. The now-sober and remorseful dad welcomes back his youngest son (Hardy) and trains him to compete in an MMA tournament. He and his older brother (Edgerton) are on a collision course in the ring.

Oh well. Just having Tom in that little world of fighting is nice enough, no matter how it turns out. It would be awesome to see him marketing the movie on a future UFC event though :)

Mr Hardy is very keen on letting his fans know what’s going on in his life (and we love him and his ego for it), so here are pics!

Gym-pics!

Wonder which weight class he’s supposed to be in. He looks fucking huge (again).

If only I was into muscles.. Not my thing at all, but I don't mind. Everything for the movies!

When this pic came out two months ago I immediately noticed the hands and was all excited that be might be into some kind of fightsport. (My brain called me a pathetic wishful dreamer for just quietly suggesting mixed martial arts to myself.. It's abusive like that.)
