Their first release was entitled Sugarman and was on the album entitled Bump N' Grind, this was a Finland only release in 1992. They followed it up with another album (Finland only release) entitled Savage Garden. They then released another album in 1997 (again, another Finland only release) entitled Wrap your Troubles in Dreams.
The first international release was in 1999, an album entitled Wasting the Dawn the hit-single Wasting the Dawn paid tribute to The Doors Jim Morrison, and featured HiM's Ville Valo in the video. This album was a turning point from the hard rock thing into the more gothic direction.
In 2000, they released the single Gothic Girl, which became a Gold record in Finland.
After recording their third major album Blessed Be, they did a tour around Germany to promote their Wasting the Dawn album, this tour was with the band Zeromancer.
In 2002 the band released the album Paris Kills, this spent weeks at number one in Finland, and became a Gold record within a month.
In 2003, The 69 Eyes were signed to EMI Finland, on which they released their album Devils in 2004.
